The Nigerian pastor who cancelled a couple’s wedding celebration because they were a few minutes late at church has passed away.
Reverend Essa Ogorry of the Fulfilling Word Foundation Church, Trans Amadi, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. His wife, Tonyemieba Essa-Ogorry, also passed away on the same date a year ago, February 16, 2020.
On February 6, Pastor Essa made the headlines for refusing to celebrate a young couple’s marriage because they had arrived late. His decision had led to an altercation between church members and guests.
The couple eventually made it to a hotel, and another pastor united them in the sacred bonds of marriage.
