On Saturday, Iranian authorities executed opposition journalist Ruhollah Zam, founder of the “Amad News” website, after he exposed many scandals affecting the ruling regime.
Last Tuesday, the spokesperson for the Iranian judiciary, Gholam Hossein Ismaili, announced the issuance of a death sentence for the opposition journalist.
Iranian government officials accused the journalist Ruhollah Zam, founder of the “Amad News” website, which is known for leaking scandals affecting the ruling regime, of inciting violence during the January 2019 protests.
The Iranian opposition journalist rejected the charges against him at court sessions, saying he only worked as a journalist.
Ruhollah Zam was arrested for a short period after popular protests in 2009 in Iran, before leaving Iran as a political refugee in France nearly a decade ago, where he inaugurated his opposition news outlet.
