Bruges’ scorer to miss Champions League due to “bus seat”

Club Bruges' top scorer, Denis

In a strange incident, the Belgian Club Brugge star will miss his team’s important Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday because he did not sit in his favorite seat on the team bus.

According to the Belgian newspaper “Hit Latest News,” the Nigerian Emanuel Denis, the scorer of Bruges, refused to board the team bus that transported the players to Dortmund because his teammate sat in his “favorite place” in the bus.

After losing his usual seat on the team bus, Dennis got angry and left the bus and did not travel with his team-mates for the decisive match, the newspaper indicated.

It is noteworthy that Denis, 23, is considered one of the most important players in Club Brugge, who is competing for a seat to qualify for the Round of 16 for the group that includes Lazio of Italy, Dortmund, and Russia’s St. Petersburg.

Bruges won against Zenit, before drawing with Lazio, and losing to Dortmund in Belgium.

Dennis may face administrative penalties after the match for his “childish” behavior, which dampens his team’s fortunes in the important match Tuesday evening.
