The French Tennis Federation announced today, Thursday, that the French Open tennis tournament this year has been postponed for a week, as it will start on May 30th, in light of the continuing outbreak of Corona virus infection in France.
The second Grand Slam of the season was due to start on May 23.
The French Open was postponed last year for four months and was held with limited attendance.
This year’s edition will end on June 13, two weeks before the start of Wimbledon.
It is expected that the postponement decision will affect the tournament program during the current season, especially the grass court season.
