Prosecutors announced in the northern Italian region of Piedmont, today, Monday, that they confiscated a batch of 393600 doses of the “AstraZeneca” anti-corona virus vaccine, following the death of a man hours after receiving an injection.

On Sunday, the regional government in Piedmont suspended use of the batch after Sandro Tugnati, a 57-year-old music teacher, fell ill and died in circumstances that have yet to be clarified.

A few days ago, Italian media reported that investigation authorities in Sicily were conducting a comprehensive study of the circumstances of the death of some citizens who had been previously vaccinated with the “AstraZeneca” vaccine.

Ireland, Denmark, Norway and Iceland have suspended the use of the “AstraZeneca” vaccine, after cases of blood clots, some of them fatal, appeared in people who had received it.
