FC Barcelona published a press release concerning the searches and arrests on Monday as part of the Mossos d’Esquadra investigation into the “Barçagate” affair.
Former President Josep Maria Bartomeu is detained along with his former adviser, Jaume Masferrer; the CEO of the club, Òscar Grau; and the head of legal services, Román Gómez Ponti.

“Before the entry and registration of the body of the Mossos this morning in the offices of Camp Nou, by order of the head of the investigating court 13, Barcelona, which investigates the case of the hiring of monitoring services of social networks, FC Barcelona offered its full cooperation to the judicial and police authorities to clarify the facts which are the subject of this investigation. The information and documents required by the judicial law were strictly limited to the facts relating to this case. FC Barcelona expresses its utmost respect for the ongoing legal proceedings and the principle of the presumption of innocence of the persons concerned in the context of these actions. “
