US Senate Republican Tom Cotton has put forward a bill opposing the lifting of sanctions on Iran.
The new draft resolution rejects easing sanctions on Iran, as well as any move that would allow Tehran access to the US financial system.
The bill has a slim chance of being approved, but it appears to be an important warning to both the Biden administration and the Iranian regime that they should not circumvent Congress while they seek to reach any political agreement of any kind.
In this project, Republican lawmakers demanded that Washington continue to impose sanctions on the Iranian regime until it gives up its nuclear ambitions and ends its support for violence and terrorism in the region.
And according to Sky News, Republican lawmakers asserted that Iran took advantage of the weak policies of the administration of former President Barack Obama, and warned President Biden against repeating the same mistakes.
