The White House affirmed US President Joe Biden’s support for diplomacy to deal with the Iranian nuclear program’s threat.
On Sunday, a US State Department official said there are still no official communication channels with Iran.
“The administration of President Joe Biden is aware of the size of the files in dispute with Iran, and Tehran must now take measures, and it must fully comply with the terms of the nuclear agreement,” the official added, in statements to Al Arabiya.
He continued, “We can sit down to negotiate after Iran returns to the agreement, and we reject the attacks launched by Iranian militias against our allies.”
On Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Iran’s obtaining compensation from the United States for the American withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal is not a precondition for reviving the agreement.
