Specialists have warned against canceling operations performed on children, including bone fracture, sleep apnea, and biopsies, due to the National Health Service’s preoccupation with treating adults suffering from the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19).
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in Britain said that the affected children and their families would find that the planned postponement of surgery is “stressful and destabilizing,” according to the British newspaper “The Guardian.”
British media reported that it was decided to postpone surgeries for children for more than 28 days due to the medical sector being preoccupied with dealing with the Corona pandemic.
British hospitals have confirmed that they are obliged to postpone these surgeries for those under the age of 18 due to the lack of hospitals in hospitals.
This comes amid attempts by the British government to control the outbreak of the Coronavirus in the country.
