Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp has determined the position of the duo, captain Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip, to play the next league match against Tottenham, scheduled for next Thursday.
Henderson missed Liverpool’s last two encounters due to injury, while Matip was rested in the team’s FA Cup match, which they lost to Manchester United, after having just returned from a connective muscle injury.
“Henderson and Matip trained completely with the team yesterday,” Klopp told reporters on Wednesday.
He added, “As usual, in such matters, we must see how they interact and what they can do today, but they were trained yesterday.”
Liverpool is fifth in the Premier League, where the team dropped from first place after failing to score goals in 4 consecutive matches in the competition.
