The resignation of the Prime Minister of Italy, amid anger at the administration

The Italian Presidency announced Tuesday that Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte had submitted his resignation to the country’s President Sergio Mattarella, amid a wave of anger at his government’s management of the emerging Coronavirus. “Covid-19” crisis.

The Italian prime minister survived two no-confidence votes in parliament last week. But he lost his ruling majority in the Senate.

The majority loss came after his predecessor, Matteo Renzi, decided to withdraw the small “Italia FIFA” party from the ruling coalition led by Conte due to frustration with the government’s management Covid-19 epidemic and the accompanying economic recession.
