Portuguese president wins a new presidential term
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the outgoing Portuguese president, managed to win a new term in the Portuguese presidential elections.
And the outgoing Portuguese president won 61.6% of the vote in the first round of the polls, according to partial results covering 98% of the electoral districts.
Former European Parliament member Anna Gomez came second with 12.24% of the vote, ahead of far-right candidate André Ventura, who received 11.9% of the vote.
The outgoing Portuguese president had recently been infected with the emerging coronavirus, “Covid-19”.
