Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro expressed his readiness to start a new course of relations with Washington under President Joe Biden’s new administration, as Maduro was one of the staunch enemies of former President Donald Trump.
Today, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro urged the new administration of President Joe Biden to “turn the page,” declaring that he was ready to embark on a “new path” in the severed diplomatic relations between Caracas and Washington.
Maduro said in a speech to his supporters: “We are ready to embark on a new path in our relationship with the government of Joe Biden based on mutual respect, dialogue, communication, and understanding.”
He added, “Bolivarian and revolutionary Venezuela in the twenty-first century, is ready to turn the page.”
Trump’s period has witnessed violent diplomatic conflicts with Venezuela, as Washington imposed heavy economic sanctions on Caracas and described Maduro as a “dictator.”
