Today, Sunday, the National Health Committee in China announced that the mainland had recorded 109 new cases of Coronavirus during the last 24 hours, with the expansion of the focus of infection in the northeast of the country, which prompted the authorities to impose general isolation on more than 28 million people.
The commission stated that 96 of the new infections are local infections, 72 of them in Hebei Province surrounding the capital, Beijing, and 12 others in Heilongjiang Province in the northeast of the country.
The number of new symptom-free cases increased to 119, compared to 79 in the previous census.
China does not classify asymptomatic infections as confirmed cases of the virus.
Earlier, the Chinese government announced the completion of a 1,500-room hospital to treat people infected with the emerging coronavirus “Covid-19” in the Chinese province of Hebei.
According to the Chinese Xinhua Agency, this hospital is one of 6 hospitals, all of which will be completed next week, with a total of 6,500 rooms.
While China has placed a group of WHO experts in quarantine after they traveled to the Chinese city of Wuhan to conduct further research on the origin of the Coronavirus.
