John Kerry, former US Secretary of State and Advisor to the US President-elect Joe Biden, today expressed his condolences to the families of Capitol Police officers Brian Seknick and Howard Libingud.
Kerry tweeted: “My deepest condolences to the families of Capitol Police officers Brian Siknick and Howard Lipingud.”
“During my last years in office, Howard was stationed next to one of our offices in the Russell Building, the doors through which everyone from school groups to the protesters entered and exited,” he said.
“Howard always had a smile on his face, but he also showed great concern for the safety of the young employees who worked behind the doors of our offices. A tragic loss for two patriots who have spent their careers protecting the corridors of democracy.”
The US Congress building was stormed by supporters of the outgoing US President Donald Trump last Wednesday, following the adoption of Joe Biden’s victory at the presidency of the United States of America.
