The former Miss Britain, Zara Holland, was arrested in Barbados after returning to the United Kingdom with her boyfriend. However, they were confirmed to be infected with the new Coronavirus.
Holland, 25, and her friend, Elliott Love, 30, were tested for the virus upon their arrival on the island.
After obtaining the result, the two reportedly obtained red bracelets, indicating that they were injured, but they cut them off and tried to flee to the airport in a taxi.
A Sugar Bay Resort employee found the bracelets and called the police, and after trying to reach Holland and her friend, they had arrived at the airport. It was reported that the couple had been held since last night in an award designated for people with Covid-19 at St. Lucy’s Hospital in northern Barbados.
Holland and her boyfriend are due to face criminal charges, including endangering the lives of others, a fine of £ 18,000 each, and 12 months in prison for violating the rules.
The rules state that before arriving in Barbados, tourists must fill out an online form and include a negative coronavirus test result. Then travelers are required to undergo a second test while on the island.
Holland was stripped of her title after appearing on a TV show having live sex.
