Trump will spend New Year’s Eve in Florida to return early to Washington
Trump continues his battle with Congress over the defense bill and stimulus packages, and his desperate attempt to change the outcome of the defeated presidential election.
Trump, who was because of attending a New Year’s Eve party at his resort in Mar Alago, Florida, was expected to leave for Washington at 11 a.m. EST (16:00 GMT).
The White House did not mention a reason to change the plans, but it coincides with a battle between Trump and Congress because of his use of their veto to block the defense policy bill and his demand for an increase in the value of checks paid to stimulate in the face of the consequences of the Corona pandemic, besides an escalation of tension with Iran.
On Thursday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif accused the United States of trying to find an excuse to launch an attack on his country and pledged that Tehran would defend itself even though it did not seek war.
“President Donald Trump and his entourage are wasting billions to send The B-52 fighters and fleets to our region … the information coming from Iraq shows a plot to fabricate an excuse for war,” Zarif said in a tweet on Twitter.
Two American The B-52 bombers flew over the Middle East on Wednesday, in what US officials described as a message of deterrence to Iran ahead of the first anniversary of the killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani by a US drone strike on January 3, 2020.
