The US President-elect, Joe Biden, received the “Pfizer” vaccine against the emerging coronavirus.
Biden said that the administration of US President Donald Trump deserves thanks for its efforts to obtain the vaccine against the Coronavirus.
Biden received his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the company “Pfizer” during a live broadcast at a hospital in Newark, Delaware.
The US President-elect added, “There is no reason to be concerned about the anti-Coronavirus vaccine, and I invite Americans to receive it as soon as it becomes available.”
After receiving the vaccine, he said, “I received the vaccine to show that it should be taken and to confirm that there is nothing to worry about.”
He added, “I am looking forward to taking the second dose of the vaccine … We are still at the beginning of the road.”
Biden also advised Americans to listen to expert advice, wear masks, adhere to social distancing, and not travel except in necessary cases.
Last Friday, Biden spokeswoman Jane Psaki said that the president-elect and his wife, Jill Biden, would receive the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine in Delaware on Monday.
She added that the process would be conducted “in front of the public” to send a message that the vaccine is “safe,” noting that the incoming Vice President, Kamala Harris, will receive the vaccine the following week.
Biden received Pfizer’s treatment hours after Vice President Mike Pence and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi injected the vaccine.
