France: President Emmanuel Macron is infected with Coronavirus


The French presidency announced, on Thursday, that President Emmanuel Macron has been infected with the new Coronavirus, indicating that he will continue to perform his presidential duties.

Macron’s office said in a statement: “The President of the Republic was diagnosed with COVID-19 today. This diagnosis came after conducting a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test after the first symptoms appeared.”

The French presidency added that Macron will be subject to isolation during the next seven days, explaining that the president’s office “is currently working on identifying potential contacts with him, to inform them of the matter,” but she added that it is not currently known how he contracted the epidemic.

The French President will isolate himself during the next seven days, to avoid the spread of “COVID-19” infection.
