United Nations – (AFP):
The United Nations announced Monday that it is continuing its discussions with the Ethiopian government to deliver humanitarian aid to the Tigray region, but to no avail until now. Simultaneously, the Security Council held its second meeting on this issue within a month and a half.
“Our discussions with the government regarding the implementation of the agreements (reached with the United Nations) are continuing,” international organization spokesman Stephane Dujarric said during his daily press conference. It is a little disappointing to say that we have not been able to enter Tigray and reach people we know need to be. Help”.
Since the Ethiopian government launched a military operation in Tigray on 4 November, the United Nations concluded two agreements to deliver humanitarian aid to the region and organize joint assessment missions with the Ethiopian authorities, but without concrete results so far.
