Trump: Attorney General William Barr leaves office before Christmas


On Monday, US President Donald Trump said that Attorney General William Barr would leave office before the end of this year.

Trump announced that his deputy, Jeff Rosen, would become the acting secretary until US President-elect Joe Biden assumed the reins of power.

Barr said in a letter he sent to Trump, and his latest post on Twitter, that he will leave office on December 23.

Earlier Monday, the American Electoral College decided the victory of Democratic candidate Joe Biden, headed by the United States, after exceeding the required quorum (270 votes) by California’s votes.

And the state of California, which has 55 votes in the electoral college, granted its votes to Biden, to formally exceed the quorum required to win the presidency of 270 votes, to become the 46th president of the country.
