The first dose was given in New York, Monday, to an American nurse who works as the critical care unit director at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, a health facility in New York City.
The nurse, Sandra Lindsay, received the first vaccine dose just before 14:30 GMT (14:30 GMT), in a live broadcast on television.

The first shipments of the vaccine arrived in New York on Monday morning, as the United States began, on Sunday, a massive logistical operation to distribute the Pfizer-Bionic anti-Covid-19 vaccine in preparation for the start of a large-scale vaccination campaign for its residents, Monday.
The United States became the sixth country to approve a vaccine manufactured by the Pfizer-Bionic alliance, after Britain, Canada, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Mexico.
