The former Senegalese star, Papa Bouba Diop, died today, Sunday, at 42, after a long struggle with illness.

Initial reports revealed that Papa Bubba Diop was suffering from “Charcot-Marie-Tooth” disease, which causes disturbances in the brain and spinal cord.

Diop, the conqueror of the French national team, in the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan, scored the goal of Senegal’s victory over France, in the opening match of the World Cup.

Diop fought many experiences on the European continent, such as the Swiss Grasshoppers, Lance of France, Fulham and Portsmouth, West Ham United and Birmingham City in England.
