Manchester City won a landslide victory over Burnley (5-0), today, Saturday, in the tenth round of the English Premier League.
Algerian Riyad Mahrez scored a hat-trick (5, 22 and 69), against one goal by Benjamin Mendy (41) and Ferran Torres (66).
Manchester City raised its score with this victory to 15 points, in eighth place, and has a postponed match, while Burnley stagnated at 5 points, in seventeenth place.
City entered the match strongly, as Gundogan passed the ball to Torres, who fired over the goal in the fifth minute.
But Mahrez Awad moments later, when defender Tarkovsky lost the ball, and De Bruyne passed it to the Algerian international, who shot it curved into the net.
Walker tried his luck with a powerful shot over the goal, in the 19th minute, before Mahrez added the second goal, in the 22nd minute, when the ball reached him from Walker’s throw-in, to advance it and shoot it beautifully into the net.
Despite the remarkable improvement in the visitors’ performance, City was able to add the third goal, in the 41st minute, when Mendy met De Bruyne’s cross towards the far post, to shoot it directly into the goal.
City coach Pep Guardiola switched off between the two halves, with Fernandinho replacing Rodri.
City continued his pressure, and De Bruyne received a pass from Jesus, to take the ball and kick it away from the goal, in the 52nd minute.
Ederson, the City goalkeeper, saved his goal from Rodriguez’s attempt in the 61st minute. The home side
scored the fourth goal in the 66th minute, when Walker sent a ball into the penalty area, and it reached Jesus, who cleverly passed it to Torres, so what was the Spanish international only shot in the net .
Phil Foden entered the City squad instead of Torres, to make his team’s fifth goal in the 69th minute, when he sent a cross that followed Mahrez with his head to complete the hat-trick.
The referee canceled a goal for City in the 75th minute, which goalkeeper Peacock-Farrell had accidentally scored in his own goal, when he tried to stop the attempt of Jesus, who appeared offside after using video technology.
City did not stop trying to add the sixth goal, and came very close to that in the last minute, when the scorer passed the ball to De Bruyne, who fired strongly in the far post, to end the match with his team’s victory (5-0
