The first football team of Al-Ahly club won the 2019-2020 CAF Champions League title, for the ninth time in its history, after defeating its counterpart Zamalek in the match that brought them together at Cairo Stadium on Friday in the final match of the competition.
Amr Al-Sulayyah scored a goal for Al-Ahly in the 5th minute of the match with a header, and Mahmoud Shikabala equalized with a powerful shot in the 30th minute. Mohamed Magdy Afsha scored a golden-weighted goal for the red giant with the 86th minute and 4 minutes before the final whistle.
Al-Ahly is the champion of the African Champions League for the ninth time in its history.
Musimani, the coach of Al-Ahly, succeeded in achieving the title for the second time at Zamalek’s expense after he won the 2016 edition with the South African Sun Downs.
Al-Ahly regained the title after a 7-year absence, while Zamalek continued without winning the African title for 18 consecutive years.
