A source in the Spanish Royal Palace said that King Philip VI quarantined for ten days on Monday, after coming into contact with a person who was later confirmed to be infected with the Coronavirus.
The source added that the king (52 years) canceled his participation in public events during the quarantine period after it was confirmed that the person was injured on Monday, a day after they had mixed.
King Felipe had chaired a scientific meeting in Madrid earlier today. The source said that Queen Letizia and their two daughters would continue their royal activities.
Spain has recorded over 1.58 million cases of COVID-19 disease, the second largest in Western Europe after France, and 43,131 deaths.
