Italian club Lazio announced Thursday that Andrea Cannavaro, son of the 2006 World Cup-winning Italian national team captain, had joined the Italian capital youth team.
“After returning to Italy to pursue his studies, Andrea decided to choose the youth sector project in Lazio,” Lazio said in a statement.
Andrea is sixteen years old (1.85 m), and he occupies the center of defense like his father, who defended the colors of ancient clubs, including Juventus, Inter Milan, Italy, and Real Madrid.
Andrea Cannavaro played for China’s Guangzhou Evergrande, who has been coached by his father since 2017.
The “Corriere Dello Sport” newspaper revealed that Lazio had succeeded in pulling the rug from his neighbor Roma in obtaining the player’s services.
