Announced that the company Google support customized backgrounds feature in the video conferencing service of its Meet and enhances service features that depend upon a lot in the boom time in the services market video conferencing because of the coronavirus emerging (Kovid -19) COVID-19.
(Meet) users of Google’s Chrome browser can also access the feature on devices running Chrome OS, in addition to laptops and desktops running Windows from Microsoft or Mac from Apple. Google says: The new feature is coming soon to mobile devices.
And there is no need for an extension to activate custom backgrounds, and users can add a background image from the set of photos they already have or from a picture library provided by Google that includes categories, such as landscapes, abstract art, in addition to office photos.
The company says: It may take up to a week before all (meet) users can access the new custom wallpaper option.
It is noteworthy that competing video conferencing services, such as: (Teams) from Microsoft and (Zoom) Zoom, Google preceded the provision of custom backgrounds, as more people rely on video calls at work and education from home during the epidemic. In recent months, the (MET) service has added a background blur feature during meetings, a momentary caption feature, a low-light feature, a hand raised, and a grid display mode, which shows up to 49 people together.
Google had integrated the (MET) app into its Gmail email service last May, adding a link in the sidebar, and making the meetings – which support up to 100 people without a time limit – available to anyone with a Google account.
In Thursday’s call about third-quarter earnings, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, said: The (meet) app has seen 235 million daily meetings and more than 7.5 billion daily video calls.
