On Sunday, Inter Milan, runners-up to the Italian football league, announced that English midfielder Ashley Young had been infected with the new Coronavirus.
“Ashley Young has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus, after the tests that were conducted (Saturday) in Appiano Gentile,” the Italian club said in a statement.
“The English player is quarantined at home,” Milan Press Agency quoted Milan as saying.
The former Watford and Aston Villa player joined Inter Milan from Manchester United in January.
Young, 35, became the sixth player to contract the Coronavirus in the club, after the Belgian Radja Ningolan, Roberto Gagliardini, the Slovakian Milan Scriniar, Alessandro Bastoni, and Romanian goalkeeper Yunot Rado.
