Before the expected meeting between Liverpool and Arsenal, on Monday, the German “Reds” coach, Jürgen Klopp, made fiery statements, threatening the “gunners.”
Klopp said Liverpool may have lost their last two encounters with Arsenal but is looking forward to a “response” when the two teams meet Monday at Anfield.
The “Gunners” defeated Arsenal last July and inflicted a second defeat on them in August at Wembley Stadium in the Charity Shield.
Commenting on the “revenge” match between the two teams, Klopp said: “The situation in the previous two matches was not as if Arsenal had smashed us, and we had no chance, so they know that the next match will be different.”
He added, “We want to respond to Arsenal, and we may be better off now, and in the end, it depends on our exploitation of the situation,” according to the Liverpool Echo website.
Among the players Klopp is betting on in the face of Arsenal is the young player Curtis Jones, whom the “Reds” coach said about him, that he is in “safe hands” with the talent development coach Vitor Matos, indicating that his plan requires the use of the player as much as possible due to his performance.
The two clubs made a good start this season in the Premier League, where Arsenal won in the first two confrontations over Fulham and West Ham, Liverpool also defeated Leeds United and Chelsea, and the two teams are seeking to achieve the third victory to catch Everton, who is at the top with 9 points.
