Barcelona rejected an offer valued at 150 million euros to transfer Ansu Fati, its young striker and jewel of his “La Massia” academy.
Portuguese Jorge Mendez informed Fati Barca’s agent of the offer a few days ago.
The offer includes 125 million euros for the player’s transfer fee and 25 million additional bonuses based on his performance.
However, Barcelona did not see the offer and refused to enter into negotiations because it is not mainly considering abandoning the 17-year-old Fati.
And at the beginning of this year, before Mendez took over the player’s business, an offer arrived at the club to join the Spanish international in the amount of 100 million euros. Still, Barca blocked the way for the bidder.
The team’s identity that offered the 150 million euros was not revealed, but English media reports spoke of Manchester United’s strong interest in the young star.
The “Red Devils” are trying to sign a top scorer striker to compete with Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea for the Premier League title this season.
It is noteworthy that Fati is officially the first-team player and was awarded the number “22”, and the penalty clause in his contract rose from 170 million euros to 400 million. At the same time, Fati did not extend his contract – which ends in the summer of 2022 – with the Blaugrana so far.
