Neymar Jr., the French star of Paris Saint-Germain, decided his fate after his team lost the Champions League title by defeating Bayern Munich (1-0) in the final match.
“I’m staying with PSG in the new season,” Neymar said in the new issue of his club’s magazine. “I have ambitions to reach the Champions League final again, but this time to win the title,” the Brazilian star added.
He stressed, “I always look forward to doing my utmost to have my name written in the history books of my team.”
“If people doubted the capabilities of Paris Saint-Germain as a great European club, those doubts have faded away in Lisbon. We left the Portuguese capital with a feeling of confidence in our ability to win the Champions League one day to write a greater history.”
“On the way back from Lisbon while we were on the plane, we were really excited to see each other again in Paris. I will never forget these memories. I formed a family and I am proud of them,” he said.
Neymar won the four local titles with the Parisian team in the season ending, and his contract with the club expires in the summer of 2022, noting that he joined from Barcelona in the summer of 2017 for 222 million euros (the value of his penalty clause).
