A source at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) denied that there have been any recommendations to cancel the Champions League and Confederation Championships this season due to the epidemic of the new coronavirus.
Zamalek will meet Egypt’s Raja Casablanca in the Champions League semi-final, while the second semi-final will bring together Al-Ahly and Al-Wedad.
In the confederation, the rebirth of Berkane meets his compatriot Hassania Agadir, while the other semi-final brings Pyramids and Horia Conakry together.
He noted that CAF President Ahmed Ahmed and Secretary-General Abdel Moneim Bah have confirmed on over one occasion that he will stick to the completion of the two championships and has established over one scenario for that.
“Al-Caf is waiting for the clubs to resume training, as well as the return of air traffic, to announce the dates of the remaining matches in the Champions League and Confederation,” said the source.
