Toni Nadal, the uncle of Spaniard Rafael Nadal and his former coach, said that Roger Federer is the best tennis player of the current generation, but Serbian Novak Djokovic is the toughest competitor his nephew has faced during of her career.
Opinions were divided on the best player over time, the trio dominating the match, winning the last 13 Grand Slam titles.
Federer, who will finish his 39th year in August, is nearing the end of his bus career and leads the race after winning 20 singles grand slam tournaments while Nadal pursues him with 19 titles, followed by Djokovic with 17 titles.
“Federer is a great player, I love watching him. If I were not Rafael Nadal or his coach, I would have liked Federer to win every game. But in the end, I like the way he plays because “It combines elegance and skill,” said Toni Nadal in a press interview.
He added: “I think Federer is the best player compared to any other player, maybe Rod Laver, and maybe Nadal, who is not far from him. But Federer is the best now. ”
Djokovic, 32, is ranked first in the world, by a difference of three meetings in the record for direct confrontations with Nadal, the world number two, 33 years old, winning 29 of the 55 confrontations that have brought them together so far.
“It will always be difficult to face Djokovic. When we face Federer, we have a way to beat him before going on the field. We know what to do against him. But against Djokovic, we don’t know very often what to do. Confronting him is more difficult. I always prefer to play Federer on Djokovic. ”
Nadal is currently training under former world number one Carlos Moya, originally from Mallorca, after separating from his uncle Tony at the end of the 2017 season.
