Real Madrid announced today, Wednesday, the reduction of the salaries of its players, to meet the financial burden caused by the emerging Coronavirus.
“The players and coaches of the first team of football and basketball, along with the main executives, have agreed to reduce their salaries for this year by 10% to 20% that may affect the end of the season,” the riyal said in a statement.

The statement added: “players, coaches, and employees made This decision, and the rest of the workers avoid the existence of any shocking measures that may affect them. It also contributes to the economic goals of the entity considering low income because of the suspension of competitions.”
He continued: “Real Madrid is proud of all who make up this great family and maintain the values that do not waver, which become especially valuable in difficult times.”
And he added: “Real Madrid, its partners, and fans want to offer all love and solidarity to those who have suffered direct consequences, because of this virus that afflicts all of us, especially those who have lost a family member or loved one.”
The statement concluded: “The club wishes a speedy recovery to all patients, and conveys its sincere thanks to those who play an essential, ideal and supportive role in the battle against the coronavirus.”
Most of the Spanish clubs, such as Barcelona, Atletico, Madrid, and Seville, preceded this procedure.
